Warren Two, Booze One in Modified Action at RR

Sheffield Lake slot veteran John Warren nabbed two wins last Thursday, but a rookie move cost him a change at an evening sweep.

Race one on the evening featured the Trak Mate Timing Championship format, with a new scoring system that ensured all drivers were rewarded points for each heat.  After five lanes of racing John Warren took the win with 31 points (2 lane wins) two points over Ryan Missler (with three lane wins, but a disasterous yellow lane).  Lee Booze picked up one lane win and finished third with 28 points.  Christian Booze, Randy Dickaman, Justin Liskai, rookie racer Lillian Missler rounded out the field.

John Warren says "I'll get you next time, Boozer!"...He did.

Race two, a 25 lap by five lane affair ended with controversy and ended Warren's chance for a sweep.  When the power cut off for the last time, the counter read 110 laps for both Lee Booze and John Warren.  However, JW failed to mark his spot, having spent the final heat on sit out.  Booze won the final heat, parking his car just past the lap counter.  Redmen Raceway rules indicate that ties are broken by a racers final stopping position on their final heat.  With Booze winning one more heat than Warren and no finishing spot for Warren marked the race was awarded to Booze by the track ownership (yes...that's Booze).  Ryan Missler out-coasted Christian Booze for third with Justin Liskai and Randy Dickman finishing out the main.

Warren made up for his mistake on the final event of the Evening.  In the 60 second per lane, five lane event, Warren secured a one lap victory over Christian Booze 111 to 110.  Ryan Missler, Lee Booze, Randy Dickman and Justin Liskai followed.

Coming up on December 7 (yes, Pearl Harbor Day), Redmen Raceway will feature an all Late Model evening of racing for the first time ever.  Ironically, Late Model racer Ryan Missler will be missing from the field as the PRI show in Indy is calling him away.  Maybe next year we'll just take the track to Indy as well!
