Well we didn't run a NASCAR race, but the Daytona 500 is in the books. The race was done in mid-90s Shootout style with three segments in descending length. Segment one ran for 2 minutes per lane, second two went 25 laps per lane. In the final segment, drivers picked the better of their two cars for all the marbles in a 30 second per lane shootout.
Lee Booze picked up the win despite not having the fastest car all night. Christian Booze and Randy Dickman's personal battles on (and off) the track cost both a shot at the podium. Booze won both early segments only to be thwarted by crashes and let's say a lack of attention...
Final Results (Laps): L. Booze (57), Brian Ackerman (53), C. Booze (50), Ryan Missler (47), Randy Dickman (46), Madey Brunton (40).
Racing will return on February 27 with the debut of the 80s ASA Late Models, a race that shouldn't be missed!
