Missler, Booze Share Super Dirt Week Spotlight

Last Thursday featured the last appearance of Big Block Mods for fall portion of the season, on tap were three races for the Tyco Modifieds.

First up was a four lane race using championship passing points.  When the power turned off for the last time, Ryan Missler took the win with a 26 out of 32 possible points (note: no one has ever scored a perfect main event of 8 points per heat for every heat).  Lee Booze finished in the runner up spot with 24, and Justin Liskai scored 22 points for third.

Points, Name (4 lanes x 20 laps per lane, Points 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1)

26, Ryan Missler
24, Lee Booze
22, Justin Liskai
21, John Warren
18, Rich Lesiecki
15, Randy Dickman

A grand slam, all four cars wreck at once!

The Second Main of the night was certainly the most entertaining.  After 4 lanes of 20 laps per lane, Ryan Missler and Randy Dickman were judged to be in a dead heat, by virtue of them finishing in different segments.  After considerable deliberation it was realized that Redmen Raceway has no tie breaking procedure (ed. note: in 20 years of racing there's never been a tie? Really?).  It was decided that Missler and Dickman would race a 2 lane, 5 laps per lane runoff to determine the winner.  After the dust settled Ryan Missler edged Randy Dickman by about half a corner for the victory.  Lee Booze rounded out the podium.

Laps, Name (4 lanes x 20 laps per lane)

73, Ryan Missler (+9.2 laps)
73, Randy Dickman (+9.1 laps)
70, Lee Booze
69, John Warren
68, Rich Lesiecki
68, Justin Liskai

Ryan Missler took home the hardware for the second time this season.

Kimi Raikkonen was not impressed with Missler's victory...

The final main of the evening was a 4 lane, 60 seconds per lane event.  It was going to take some extra effort to unseat Missler from the overall win on the evening, and after the time stopped Lee Booze picked up the win.  It wasn't enough however for the overall as Missler finished on the podium in third behind Randy Dickman to secure the hardware for the evening.

Laps, Name (4 lanes x 60 sec per lane)

88, Lee Booze
87, Randy Dickman
86, Ryan Missler
85, John Warren
83, Justin Liskai
70, Rich Lesiecki

With Super Dirt Week in the books Redmen Raceway turns to full fendered racing until Christmas.  This coming week will be "Hell Tour" night for the never before raced "Beer Models".  The Fall portion of the season will finish up with the running of the World 100.

Here come the Beer Models (each lane a different color and different beer!)
