Booze Doubles Up on Ohio State 500 (and Bean Soup!) Night

Redmen Raceway track owner Lee Booze made a statement last Wednesday winning both legs of the long distance Ohio State 500 (Supermodifieds, Late Models) and took over the season points lead in the process.

Booze took a narrow half-lap victory over Ryan Missler in the non-wing Tyco supermodified event, with Randy Dickman only a few car lengths behind in third.  The Tyco ASA late model main was a more stretched out affair with Christian Booze coming up second and Dickman nabbing his second podium of the night.

This week's winner, with Alan Kulwicki and Gary Allbritain on the plaques!

Three Winners on "Lots o' Fenders" Night!

This past Wednesday was a fender-fest with an all stock car lineup.  On tap were three 4 lane by 60 second races featuring the familiar ASA Late Model Tyco class, followed by two new classes of cars; AFX Magnatraction Super Birds and JAG DK Street Stocks.

In the ASA Late Model opener, Ryan Missler made it three for four events on the season taking a narrow win over Christian Booze, denying him a 24th Birthday victory by one lap.  Next up were the brand new Magnatraction Super Birds.  Lee Booze (builder of the cars...go figure) took home the win over Mark Gierhart by a whopping six laps!  In the hooligan finale on the night Randy Dickman edged John Warren by a mere car length (!) to win the Cloverleaf Speedway Street Stock feature.

Lee Booze, Randy Dickman and Ryan Missler show off their winning plaques.

It wouldn't be a pavement Late Model race without a trip to the tech barn...

Missler Gets #100 (and 101), Gierhart Stops the Sweep

Ryan Missler, last season's champion picked up where he left off last winter by winning.  This one was different however, as it marked his 100th win at Redmen Raceway, the first racer to accomplish that feat.

Missler started off the night winning the AFX G+ ISMA Supermodified event and finished up the night with a trouncing of the field in the Missler Industries JAG Hobbies Indy Car main.  Only Mark Gierhart had an answer for Missler, as he captured the AFX G+ Midget race.
