Recent Results, Season Championship Coming Thursday...

Its been an unusual winter, hardly any snow, but it always falling on a Thursday.  However Redmen Raceway was able to squeeze in two shows over the last month.

January 30th saw racers convene for a regular show.  Wins were split between Ryan Missler, Randy Dickman and returning racer Brian Ackerman.

After two weeks delay, the Tiny King's Royal was finally held with Lee Booze taking the big win.  Booze and John Warren won the prelim features.

Racing for the winter season wraps up this Thursday with three events and the distribution of points $ and trophies!

No Racing Thursday 2-27-20

Once again Mother Nature has a grip on Redmen Raceway.  With blowing and drifting snow forecast for Thursday night, we are choosing to cancel racing for the sake of our traveling competitors.

We will wrap up the season next Thursday with the annual Cavalcade, followed by the season awards ceremony.  See you then!

No Racing 2-13-20

Due to the forecast of continued snow and frigid temps, Redmen Raceway is postponing the Tiny Kings Royal until next week 2-20.

"We had that date open just in case of inclement weather," said track owner Lee Booze.  Because the facility has lost two weeks in a row the February 20th show will feature the Tiny Kings Royal event along with the weekly Late Model and Modified mains.  Racing will start at 7pm as usual.

"We're always disappointed when we have to cancel, but this makes the most sense.  We look forward to crowning a King next week," the promoter added.

Thursday Weather...A Royal Pain?

"We are monitoring the situation and will make the best decision possible for our competitors and fans."  That was the statement released Tuesday afternoon by Redmen Raceway owner/promoter Lee Booze concerning the predicted weather for Thursday night's Tiny Kings Royal sprint car event.

The track owner added, "Obviously we want to get the show in, but we want to take into account those who travel to compete here at our facility.  We will make a final decision around noon on Thursday as to the status of the event.  Luckily we have an open date on our schedule for such a possibility and we can use it if need be."

Last year's Royal went Justin Liskai, who earlier in the week indicated he was hoping to defend that title, taking a step back from weekly racing in 2019-20.  "We want to give all our racers a shot at the crown," said Booze, "but we also want to use common sense in trying to get the show in."

Stay tuned as the week progresses for further updates from the Speedway office.

Booze Takes Chili Bowl, Missler wins Gateway LM Crashfest...

Redmen Raceway went on the road this year for the annual running of the Chili Bowl Nationals.  The 2020 event was conducted on the four lane portable track that also hosts the "Tiny" Brad Doty Classic in the summer.

Leon Booze hosted the affair in his Hot Wheels garage, complete with homemade Chili and the 1:1 scale event on PPV.  The field of ten racers were divided into three heats (scored 5-3-2-1 per lane) with the winner of each advancing to the main and all others going to the last chance hooligan event.  Only the winner would advance to fill the remaining spot on the feature grid.

The Tiny Chili Bowl, waiting for aciton...

Parkwood Mem. Speedway owner Bruce Minner got the ball rolling by picking up heat race one over John Warren and Brian Lesiecki.  Randy Dickman took the second heat of Justin Liskai and Rich Lesiecki.  Lee Booze battled through to the third heat win over Ryan Missler, Leon Booze and Lilian Missler.

When the dust settled on the B Main, Rich Lesiecki made the advance to the feature.  The big question going into the main event was who would best handle the treacherous lane 1.  After four lanes of beating and banging, Lee Booze emerged victorious with a narrow two point victory over Bruce Minier and three points clear of Randy Dickman.  Rich Lesiecki, consi winner, rounded out the feature field.

The nightcapper was a round-robin affair for traction-magnet-less Tyco Late Models.  After numerous go-arounds of beating, banging and spin outs, Ryan Missler proved the easy winner running the high line in lane four.  Randy Dickman, Justin Liskai, Bruce Minner, Leon Booze, Rich Lisiecki, Brian Lesiecki, Lilian Missler, John Warren and Lee Booze rounded out the rock'em sock'em event.

Birthday Race Shakes Up Points Battle! Christian Booze returns and takes two...

New year, new you, but at Redmen Raceway, its new battle.  The first night back after the holiday break saw college winter breaker Christian Booze return to RR in mid season form taking two of three races on the night.

The late model opener saw Christian Booze and Ryan Missler race to a tie, only to have Booze claim the win on count-back.  Lee Booze finished a close third.  Randy Dickman, John Warren Rich and Brian Lesiecki and Lilian Missler rounded out the field in the 6 lanes x 60 second race.

Heads up cone man!  He was alright, just a bit angry at Ferkel and Rankin!

The Sprint Car night capper featured a twist on the normal IROC style racing at RR.  Each driver picked a car to start and ala robbers bingo, the lower finishing drivers could steal a faster car for the next round or choose one of the pool of extra cars.  Anyone with a fast car, wasn't keeping it too long, making for interesting strategies.  When all was said and done, with many cars traded, stolen (and parked) Christian Booze came out on top with 135 laps.  Lee Booze using the strategy of mid pack cars cruised to second with Ryan Missler see-sawing between winners and losers for third.

Dickman Wins World 100, JW takes prelim win in tiebreaker...

Randy Dickman's new found love of dirt late model racing paid off on December 11 as he took the runaway victory in the Annual World 100 event.  Dickman snared two lane wins in the five lane event that ran for an epic 100 laps per lane.

John Warren took the pole for the century grind in the prelim event out dueling Lee Booze and Ryan Missler on the count-back as all three notched 23 points after five lanes. Randy Dickman and Rich Lesiecki rounded out the top five.

In the main event, it was all Dickman as he pulled away for the seven lap win over John Warren, who was one-up on Booze.  Ryan Missler, Rich Lesiecki and Lilian Missler rounded out the field.
