Track owner Lee Booze doubled up on Tyco 440x2 Sprint Car wins this past Wednesday night at Redmen Raceway. The double victories with an added runner-up in the Modified main shot Booze from third to first in the season long points battle at the track. It wasn't easy in either race however.
In the first main of the evening, a makeup from the previous off week, Booze narrowly outran Ryan Missler by half a lap when the power shut off. John Warren, also on the lead lap came home in third. Randy Dickman, less than a lap behind was forth and Brian Ackerman was one one and half down to round out one of the closest top-to-bottom races in recent memory.
Booze got the sprint car sweep in race number two, again topping Missler, this time by a whole go-around. Randy Dickman came home third, with Ackerman, Warren and a late arriving Christian Booze finishing up the field.
John Warren picked up his second Modified main event of the season in the third straight thriller of the evening. Warren coasted home a mere half a lap ahead of Lee Booze, who was denied the sweep of the evening. Christian Booze rebounded from the sprint car main to finish third. Randy Dickman, Ryan Missler and Brian Ackerman were trailing at the end.
On a side note: regular Justin Liskai was a no show for the fall finale for good reason...the birth of son Grayson Wayne Liskai. Looks like we can add one more the next generation at Redmen Raceway. Pretty soon RR will have to add a children's play area!
Racing will return in January, see you then...

Gierhart, Booze, Booze Take FAST Night wins...
Mark Gierhart, long time racer at Redmen Raceway missed opening night, but made up for it in a big taking the opening race on FAST night at RR. Gierhart averaged over half a lap per lane in the 5 lane by 45 seconds contest. Justin Liskai put up his best numbers of the season taking the runner up spot over ever-consistent John Warren. Lee Booze wrestled fourth away from Ryan Missler while Randy Dickman languished off the pace for sixth.
In the big block main event Lee Booze put the Kenny Tremont 115 in victory lane for the second week in a row for that machine. Booze inched ahead of progeny Christian Booze by half a lap when the power cut off. Mark Gierhart finished a close third only one lap off the pace. Randy Dickman and John Warren rounded out the top five. Ryan Missler tough night continued with a sixth and Justin Liskai's good luck also went south with a seventh place running.
Christian Booze got one better in the Tyco 440x2 Sprint Car main, capturing the win by half a lap over Mark Gierhart (who by night's end looked to be in mid season form...). The next three were under a blanket with John Warren edging out Randy Dickman and Lee Booze. Justin Liskai and Ryan Missler limped home for sixth and seventh respectively.
Randy Dickman maintains a slim point standings lead over John Warren and Lee Booze. But Mark Gierhart's strong showing could pull him back into the mix when drops are factored in at season's end.
Redmen Raceway is off next week as noted in the UPDATED schedule. Racing will continue on December 14 with two sprint car mains and a modified night capper. Racing starts at seven.

Dickman, Warren Take Opening Night Wins
The 2016 winter racing season at Redmen Raceway got underway with seven racers on Wednesday night. On tap was H.O. Super Dirt Week for Tyco 440x2 Modifieds. The cars were split into two groups with the slower cars labeled 358 Modifieds and the faster set racing for the Big Block Super Dirt Week Crown.
Randy Dickman moved into second place on the all time RR win list with a convincing three lap win in the initial contest. Dickman averaged 16.8 laps (84 total) in the 45 seconds per lane, five heat race. Ryan Missler was the only one close with 81. Lee Booze, Brian Ackerman (with Christian Booze driving in relief due to a fire call...), Justin Liskai and John Warren rounding out the main.
John Warren made up for his first race misfortune by storming back to take the second main of the night. Warren cranked off 119 laps in the 60 seconds per lane, five lane event. Dickman almost made it two on the evening but a disasterous White lane heat of only 16 laps was his downfall. Brian Ackerman edged Ryan Missler for third, while Christian Booze, Justin Liskai and Lee Booze rounded out the field.

Schedule Adjustments
Due to the late model cars undergoing some refurbishment, they are being replaced in the schedule with the Big Block Modifieds. We are hoping to find a suitable decal maker to upgrade the late models in the near future.
The remaining schedule has been altered to reflect that change, most notably replacing the World 100 with another Eldora event: the "Tuesday Night Tailgate" for DIRT modifieds. We will also dig out the Tyco Trucks for a "Mudwinter Classic" crash-and-burn race that certainly reflects the nature of that event on the Eldora clay.
All dates and start times remain the same however...
See you next week for Lee's Birthday Bash featuring NO ENTRY FEE and cake!
